Overview

Gridio lets you configure your exact electricity pricing so that smart charging decisions and savings calculations reflect what you actually pay.

Two Pricing Models

Dynamic spot pricing

Gridio automatically selects your price region and uses real-time hourly spot prices. This is the default and recommended option if you have a dynamic energy tariff.

Manual rate configuration

If you have a fixed-rate contract or a tariff with time-of-use pricing, you can enter your rates manually for full control.

What You Can Include

Beyond just the energy price, you can add:

This matters because a spot price of 0.20 EUR/kWh can become 0.34 EUR/kWh after grid fees, supplier markup, and VAT. Without these, your savings calculations and charging decisions would be based on incomplete information.

Time-based grid fees

Many European energy markets have grid fees that vary by time of day. For example, evening peak hours may have higher grid fees. Gridio now factors these into smart charging decisions, so it avoids expensive peak periods even if the spot price itself looks cheap.

You can set separate weekday and weekend rates using the visual time wheel in the app.

How to Set Up
